Our August Ruby on Rails workshops started on the 10th of August with 10 great participants and no less than 5 coaches on the board! Dawid has kicked off with the presentation explaining the course of the event. After a short introduction we divided all guys & a girl into 3 groups with one coach per team. During two days (actually 16 hours!) they were working on three different apps:

  • Alledrogo - a simple auction app
  • Gangstagram - an app for applying photo filters (who wouldn’t want to develop another Instagram?)
  • TV-Tracker - an app for tracking favourite movies and soap operas (and how cool is that!)

In the end each participant could feel as a winner because everyone has learned a lot! The most valued things mentioned by workshop’s attendants were:

  • live coding
  • working with coaches
  • real-time code review
  • a nice office

The real cherry-on-the-top has been the Saturday after-party when we could experience how Google Glass works (kudos to Daniel Mendalka!)
