Pivotal Tracker - The Meeting Place

As most of our Customers have already noticed, we love simplifying things! That is why we treat our Clients just as our coworkers by letting them to use the same tools as we do. The first and the most important Pivotal Tracker - the meeting place.

As most of our Customers have already noticed, we love simplifying things! That is why we treat our Clients just as our coworkers by letting them to use the same tools as we do. The first and the most important is… Pivotal Tracker - the meeting place.

Welcome to the heart of our work. This is the place where things happen. Here you may keep an eye on our work to know what’s going on wherever you are and whatever time it is. In the default mode there are 4 columns displayed:

Icebox

  • here we can put four different types of stories:

s3

  • Features - with a ‘Star’ icon - new features that are going to be implemented soon. We divide large and complex ideas into manageable tickets, which are both easy to estimate, simple to implement and almost effortless in verification.
  • Bugs - identified as little, pretty ladybugs - tiny weaknesses of our projects faced while testing. Don’t worry if you see many of them - it’s good we’ve found them and now can fix them asap. What we focus on is avoiding any regression and doing things twice - continuous improvement is both our path and goal.
  • Chore icons - you shouldn’t care about them unless we hire you as a developer in our team :)
  • Releases - the breakpoints of each and every stage of the project implementation. You might also use them as a separator between the groups of tickets that are going to be implemented according to their priority.

Backlog

we put each and every bug we find into the Icebox and we also add every little client’s request there. The amount of work placed there may make our courageous developers team a little bit confused, so we choose the most urgent and crucial tasks in each iteration and move them into backlog.

If one of our developers is ready to face new challenges…

…he/she takes one of the tickets out from the Backlog. Don’t you worry if it is not the first one served - we spread the tickets among each other depending on our knowledge and previous experience. Taken one moves into…

Current

this is the most exciting place in the whole Pivotal Tracker! As a client you may…

…see what is ready for testing, as tickets which are ‘Delivered’ are already deployed to staging.
…see what was done recently. Accepted tickets move up the Current and change color to green.
…observe how the things are going: which ticket is being done by whom with the commits attached.

Note: you shouldn’t change anything until the ticket is delivered. It means that our developers work hard to deliver it asap. Eventually, you may comment on the things that might cause any misunderstanding.

Done

the full history of the project development, where you will find tickets that are already done with the full description and history. Simple as that!

Looking forward to seize the opportunities that Pivotal Tracker provides? As our Customer, you should already have the access. First time in here? Don’t worry, we will encourage you to participate in the exciting process of building the software and help you with every single issue you may face while using it.

See you in Pivotal Tracker!
