Netguru Code College RoR: Weekend Edition

Where: Warszawa, Netguru's Office, al. Jana Pawła II 29

When: 15 and 16 September 2018., 9 am to 5 pm

 ncc 2018

Want to become a professional coder? Have you already gained some knowledge by yourself, or attended any university classes, but you do not really know what a  programmer's’ daily life looks like?

During the workshop, you will be divided into teams of 3-4 people who will then build a Rails app from scratch. Each group will be mentored by one of our experienced developers, who will be there to guide you and help with all your questions and ideas. After 2 days and 16 hours of coding – besides learning and having fun – you will have one more app in your Github portfolio.

If you are:

  • a PHP, Python/Django, Java, .NET frameworks developer who would like to learn and switch to Ruby on Rails,
  • just a beginner ready to develop an application within a team, who has already learned some Rails on his/her own and want to take it to the next level.

Here is our short checklist of the technologies you shall know (just in general):

  • Ruby on Rails;
  • HTML/CSS/JavaScript (the very basics).

Apart from coding, there are other competencies, which are important for us. The perfect candidate:

  • is a friendly team player with great communication skills,
  • is open-minded and eager to share knowledge,
  • shows initiative and ability to find and test some solutions on their own,
  • has a good command of English in writing and speaking (CEFR B2+).

There are no hardware requirements for workshops, but please bring a device with one of the following operating systems: macOS, Linux, or Windows with a Linux environment. Programming in Ruby seems to be a lot easier on those.

Workshops are 100-percent free. We will also get free lunch, snacks, and coffee. We provide will you with a venue, mentors, support and we are looking forward to meeting you!

Don't hesitate and apply right away! If you have any questions, just drop us a line at

Netguru Code College is all about 100% meaty/vegan content. We want every participant to keep their “fingers” busy - we do code everyday and want our participants to do the same - under time-pressure and simulating a real commercial project work-flow, but still taking it with a pinch of salt, open to all questions and discussions.

Deadline: 24.08.2018
